Good evening folks! You will most likely see a random smattering of blog posts here and there. As life is busier I put less emphasis on photo taking and writing about my daily fitness, recipes, etc. But I do still love to share with you so I will try to as I make time.

Instead of giving you a play by play of my latest endeavors, I thought I’d share things I’m loving lately. Some food, some fitness, some link love- it’s all here for your viewing pleasure. Take a look:

I’ve been antiquing/thrifting a lot lately. For nothing special but just looking. I’ve set up a sort of rooster theme in my kitchen and found these two new additions for $5 each.

Also to continue the rooster theme, my mom brought me these cute rooster plates for above my kitchen cabinets:

I found a $3 juicer, perfect for some fresh squeezed grapefruit juice:

This bedside table lamp marked down from $65 to $20:

Plus some cute guest bedroom lamps reduced at Target to $12/each:

I’ve been spending some quality time with this guy:

He enjoys lounging around the house and acting like he owns the place:

I’ll let him own that kitty jungle gym. He has stolen my heart with his cute little face:

Gah, I melt. Until he gnaws on my fingers/toes/legs/arms/ears. Then I yell at him. I can’t even imagine having a child one day. Moving on, it’s been wonderful to have my family in town lately. My sister and her kids visited a few weeks back and my mom & dad have been down lately too. They brought down an outdoor dining set for our back patio and I couldn’t be happier to have an outdoor entertainment spot:

I’ll try to get a better photo with out the iPhone grain next time. We grilled up some yummy grub while they were here:

It’s always a treat having them in town, even when we don’t take the best pictures after a sweaty walk outside 🙂

Don’t worry, my husband hasn’t fallen off the face of the earth, he just hates pictures 🙂

Now to share a lovely treat with you. A coffee treat. But it’s not really a treat except in my book when I want a cold pick-me-up in the middle of the afternoon. Iced coffee is a delicious drink but simply taking your coffee and pouring it over ice isn’t going to do the trick. You need a strong brew and some time. Here’s what I do:

Fresh Iced Coffee

What You’ll Need:

  • – 1 Cup of Ground Coffee
  • – 4 Cups of Water
  • – French Press
  • – Almond/Coconut Milk

Grind up some FRESH coffee beans, preferably dark roast:

Add 1 cup of ground coffee into a french press and add 4 cups of water on top. Leave the press on top, not pressed down. Place the press in the refrigerator for 10-12 hours (overnight works best). And then you will press the coffee and use the strong brew for making iced coffee.

I mix 1/2 cup of the cold brew with 1/2 cup of Coconut/Almond Milk over ice. It’s only 25 calories total! Add some Stevia or Maple Syrup for a dab of sweetness. If you don’t like to add cream/milk to your coffee, you can add 1/2 cup of water and then 1/2 a cup of the cold brew over ice. This will last you for 6-8 glasses of iced coffee. Talk about cheap! ** If you don’t have a french press you can use a pitcher and strain the coffee grinds with a cheese cloth or small colander. iced

Last but not least I wanted to share a workout with you! I’ve been loving Pumps & Iron’s blog lately and she has a TON of workouts for you to do at home or at the gym.
