Good morning! Happy Saturday to all of you. Darin & I are currently in Moultrie for a funeral in the family but on our way down yesterday we stopped through Mobile, Alabama. I guess I haven’t shared with you guys yet, but we will be moving to Mobile, Alabama in February as my husband received a promotion at work and we will be settling there for the next few years. We met with a realtor to look at a house we had been scouting out online. Just as the pictures online had shown, we loved it in person even more!
We ended up signing the papers and putting a deposit down yesterday and will rent for a year until we get settled in the area and find out where we would want to buy a house. We move in February 1st and I will definitely share more photos of the house once we get moved in! Crazy how life is always changing for us.
This week has been pretty busy but I’ve managed to keep my healthy eating on track. Here are some of my eats as of late:
Breakfast’s look like this: Coffee, Grapefruit & my favorite Oatmeal: Kashi Go Lean Honey & Cinnamon with Blueberries.
Lunches look like this: Baby Kale & Spinach Salads with veggies on the side. For my protein I usually have hard-boiled eggs or scramble up some eggs on the side with spinach.
Dinner Wednesday night was Sweet Chile Chicken (add thai sweet chile sauce on top of chicken and bake) with a side of roasted Brussel Sprouts & Sauteed Kale. I roasted the Brussel Sprouts in olive oil with salt and garlic powder for 20 minutes on 425 and topped them with fresh parmesan for the last few minutes they were roasting. I added ½ cup of organic chicken broth to a skillet and cooked up the kale in that with some sea salt. It was a delicious dinner overall.
I’ve been trying to incorporate as many greens in my meals as I can. Roasting vegetable is the best because the flavors seem to come out so much better than being cooked in water on the stove. Just my opinion though 🙂
Christmas time is here. We finally bought a tree this week and I’m decorating it on Sunday, a little late but better than never! I would be so sad to not have a tree. My favorite part of decorating for Christmas is setting up the village. Maybe it’s the little girl in me that never outgrew Barbies. I played with them until I was 13, yep.
It’s been a while since I shared some Link Love. I’ve been reading so many great articles lately and wanted to share my favorite Fitness, Flavor & Finds links from the week.
Bess at Bess Be Fit shared this “Hot Yoga” Boot Camp Workout that looks awesome. Obviously unless you want to crank your heat up, this will be a normal yoga workout but being that it’s a boot camp you will probably get hot fast! I’m needing more yoga in my life so I’m going to give this a try tomorrow!
Madeline at Food Fitness & Family Blog shared how she juices at home using her food processor. Mind blown, I had no idea you could do this. Zip over to her site and see her step-by-step tutorial on how to juice at home with your processor! I’m definitely going to give this a try. I haven’t had the heart or money to buy a juicer yet.
Jenna at Let’s Go Sunning always has the cutest DIY ideas on her blog. I’ve shared a few here before and saw this West Elm Inspired Tree Clip that looks super easy to make but a great addition to your tree or wreath! Check out her site for a great tutorial on how to make one of your own!
I hope you guys enjoy your weekend, pray for me as I tackle the Sunday Christmas shoppers tomorrow. I’ve barely made a dent in shopping for family/friends. I’ll be sharing one of my DIY gifts next week so make sure to check back 🙂
Do you like to decorate for Christmas? What’s your favorite part?
