Good evening! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine started with a Friday night date to Serenbe. Serenbe is a self-sustained community in Palmetto, GA, about 30 minutes from where I live. While looking at Restaurants.com, we saw there was a coupon for $25 worth of food for $10 for the restaurant The Hil at Serenbe so we decided to try it out!
Darin and I had only been to Serenbe one other time and it was for our engagement photos this time last year! It was kind of fun to be back in the same area that we had out photos taken at.
^^ This seems like forever ago! Thanks to Amber Wilburn Photography. You can see some of our other engagements photos at that link.
Anyways, we went to dinner at The Hil Friday night and it was so great to go out on a date!
Wearing my new infinity scarf! As I said before, I’m pretty much living in it.
It was very low lighting in the restaurant but I loved the warm glow of the lights and the friendly employees.
Our server was very sweet and I enjoyed the food. All of their produce is grown on the Serenbe Organic farm and used for their recipes. I went with a Spinach salad with feta, garbanzo beans and bacon. And for my entree I just couldn’t turn down the fresh pizza made on Organic Whole Wheat Crust with fresh tomatoes, basil, mushrooms and mozzarella. Yum. Sorry for the bad food pic, I tried but Iphone photos suck and no, I will not bring my massive Nikon into a restaurant unless necessary.
I would definitely visit again if only to try their desserts. They had one that was a Belgian waffle with a bourbon glaze and bourbon pecan ice cream on top but we were too full to try! That just means we need to go back for another visit 🙂
The weekend also included lots of Teavana Chai Tea as we both started coming down with a mild cold. I’ve been fighting something for over a week so lots of tea and water have been consumed over here.
Also on the menu: Coconut Friend Bananas + Peanut Butter = even more heavenly than the original.
On Saturday after working out and eating lunch, we stopped by a local park for a little hiking and to take advantage of the beautiful weather.
There are several trails around the park but we took the Creek Trail down to the water.
I love that the leaves are still beautiful colors here. If only Fall would stay until Spring. I hate Winter.
Man my Florida tan has faded fast! I miss the sun.
Our weekend was fun and relaxing, just as I wanted it to be. We also went to church this morning and hit up the matinee showing of Breaking Dawn II. Oh yes, that’s right my husband came with me. He loves me that much 😉 At first I thought it was a little cheesy but I guess they all are right? It was great overall though. Another thing that was exciting to me was seeing the Hunger Games: Catching Fire promoted. Although it doesn’t come out until next November!! I guess that means I’ll just need to roam the streets of Atlanta trying to find Peeta or Catniss filming nearby.
I’ll be back tomorrow with some Monday Motivation and a new recipe!
What was your favorite part of the weekend?
