Good evening! Happy Work-out Wednesday! I’m just going to say I’m ready for the weekend. This week has been rough at work and I’m ready to celebrate one of my good friends from college- Sarah. We are throwing her a bachelorette party in Daytona Beach and it’s going to be so fun! Don’t worry I’ll post pics later 😉

Today is National Running Day and while I wanted to head out for a nice long run in honor of it, I had limited time and it was raining outside so I jumped on the treadmill for a 1 mile interval run before completing this workout:

Alternating Forward lunge– Lunge forward on left leg, twist your weight to left hip and then return to start position. Repeat on the right leg. – 12-15 total

Kettlebell Swings– You can use a weight or kettlebell- I used 15lbs.

Squat Jumps– Squat down, jump up and swing your weight overhead. Return to squat and continue jump movement.

2 Squats + 2 Pulse- Squat twice then squat down, pulse for 2 counts then stand up. repeat 12-15 times.

Suitcase Swings– I used 15lb weight but you can use what works for your body.

Since all of our food was packed and being moved today, I stopped by Whole Foods after the gym and hit up the salad bar! My favorite place.

I came away with this in the mix: Spring Mix, Spinach, Cucumbers, Black Beans, Carrots, Avocado, Hummus, Hardboiled Egg, Walnuts, Feta Cheese all topped with Balsamic Vinegar and Lime Juice. It was delicious and a great fuel of protein and greens after my workout.

What I wear working it out is so important to me especially when running long distances. I found out pretty fast that the shorts I used to run 2-3 miles in weren’t going to work for my 10 mile runs. Enter Under Armour. These Capris are the best and I love wearing them to workout in, especially to run in. They make you feel really light.

Last but not least is my running shoes. I went to Big Peach in Atlanta and they have fit me in the perfect shoes for my feet. I have high arches and always used to get shin splints because I wasn’t wearing the right ones. At Big Peach they have you run on a treadmill and they see the way your feet pronate and fit you in the right ones. Right now my favorites are Mizuno Wave Rider.
